    Climate Solutions Challenge

    Overview

    This challenge will increase your students’ familiarity with action items to reduce their carbon footprint. Students will have an opportunity to integrate youth-friendly action items to their lifestyles, and engage in friendly competition and/or a cooperative challenge. Planning and carrying out action plans helps students diminish stressors in relation to climate change. It provides them tools they can use immediately to contribute to solutions. 
    Grades 8-12

    Setup your climate solutions challenge

    This challenge will increase your students’ familiarity with action items to reduce their carbon footprint.     • Watch the Teacher Introduction Video - Watch this video to orient yourself to the site and its functions, and how to create your community group for your challenge.

    • Create an account and a team for each of your classes (see other uses for community groups in the Appendix, item B).
    • Encourage your school administration to create a Community Group for the school to compete against other schools in your area.

    • Decide on the type of challenge, timeline, and goals.
    • Materials needed: devices with internet access
