In this lesson, students will read and analyze a mentor text 100 Word Memoir. After studying the mentor text, students will create and evaluate their own 100 Word Memoir.

This is an online module created for the 3rd Grade of the Junior High School. The topic of the lesson is the "7 Wonders of the World", and its main emphasis is placed on the Listening comprehension skills practice.The lesson is constructed on the basis of the ADDIE Model (Kurt,2017), and it is inspired by the UDL Principles approach (CAST,2011), and the Gagne's Nine Events of Instruction.During the lesson, various online platforms and webtools are used, something that makes learning procedure more interesting and accessible for all learners to attend and follow.

Students increase their understanding of alphabet books by participating in a variety of reading and writing activities.

Students create acrostic poems using their names and the names of things that are important to them.

Students write and perform a skit or monologue that brings awareness to a specific issue addressed in the text.

This lesson focuses on the vocabulary and skills students need to define, identify, discuss and apply a variety of informative writing techniques. The texts in this lesson are infographics related to marginalized people. Students are asked to apply the techniques they learn to an informative text of their own. 

Images can be a useful component in any subject.  This lesson will guide students through an analysis of an image.  Students will use critical thinksing skills to interpret an image. Students will then generate a hypothesis about the source and construct questions for further investigation. 

Supporting inquiry-based research projects, the Animal Inquiry interactive invites elementary students to explore animal facts and habitats using writing prompts to guide and record their findings.

This lesson is designed to support English language learners when argumentative writing.  It is prepared using the topic selected by my students, “Are Social Networking Sites Good For Our Society?”  This lesson could easily be adapted to meet other topics of interest.  The lesson begins by reinforcing that when one is argumentative writing, the writer must choose a side and have a reason for choosing it. Then, the lesson evaluates others’ argumentative writing to see what it might look like. Afterward, the students have an opportunity to get comfortable with the argumentative writing topic they will be writing about with support of their peers and the teacher. Ultimately, with other support in place, students will write an argumentative piece to the best of their ability with a goal in mind.
