Throughout this lesson, the teacher will explain equivalent fractions, plot them on a coordinate plane, connect and extend those points, then discuss the importance of the relationship and explore what the students notice about the relationship. This lesson can help depend understanding of equivalent fractions as well as deepen the discussion into slope being similar to the fraction that we gave at the beginning of the lesson. Standard: Graph proportional relationships, interpreting the unit rate as the slope of the graph. Compare two different proportional relationships represented in different ways. For example, compare a distance-time graph to a distance-time equation to determine which of two moving objects has greater speed.

Cluster: Understand the connections between proportional relationships, lines, and linear equations
