The Wall

My activity will address the following DQ: should there be a wall between the United States and Mexico? It will begin with a class discussion concerning this subject, where initial understandings about what the students already know will be discussed, then I'll show the grabber, groups will be assigned, the students will communicate group roles, will complete their individual roles, then they'll create a proposal. Lastly, each group will present their proposals and will be grading according to the rubric.

Activity:

  1. Work/communicate with assigned group members
  2. Discover the pros and cons involved with creating a wall, the environmental, social, and financial factors are there, who and how would this wall be paid, and what affects will this have on both the United States and Mexico
  3. Establish and present a proposal what will defend your position and explain why or why not there should be a wall put up.
