This video introduces each letter with an example of an animal to accompany that letter.  The video contains many examples of animals that are identified by the first letter.  The video outlines what the students are expected to do.

Central Question: How can choosing an animal with a certain letter of the alphabet further their understanding of the alphabet.  Understanding the alphabet is an important standard for students because the alphabet is the foundation for learning.

Lecture: Teachers give further examples of animals and their starting letters.  Students are also allowed to ask any questions they may have about the standard.  Students will also be expected to answer questions about letters and animals to make sure they are understanding the task.

Culminating Activity

Poster/Presentation Activity

Students will make a poster following the criteria guidelines

Introduction: After the video, students are assigned a letter and are told to choose an animal for that letter.  However, the animal must be different from the one shown in the video.

After finding an animal for their letter, students are expected to present their findings to the class.
