Getting Started with Deep Freeze Enterprise


Install Enterprise Console

Step 1: Navigate to the install location.\\beta\Installs\DeepFreeze install\Faronics 8_33_220_5131\Faronics_DFE\DFEnt

Step 2: In the next following screens Click “Run” > Next > Click “I Accept the terms in the License Agreement” > Next.

Step 3:Open the text file Lic.txt copy and paste the license key into the Deepfreeze window.

Step 4: Click Install. A window will open up stating it was successfully installed.

Step 5: The next window asks for the “Customization Code” enter the code as follows.

Step 6: Click Next. You have completed the install and the customization code is saved. Now it is ready to use.

Setup remote connection to Deepfreeze server

Step 1: Open Deepfreeze Console

Creating Groups

Step 1: Under “User Defined Groups” right click “Add Group”.

Step 2: Type in the group name and click “Add”. Note: You can keep doing this until you have sufficiently separated the systems into the groups and subgroups you choose.

Create Task in Deepfreeze

Step 1: Open Deepfreeze Console and under Network and Groups you will see Scheduler under Network and Groups. Right click “Scheduler” and click Add Tasks.

Step 2: The Scheduled Task Wizard will open Select the action you wish the task to perform.

Step 3: Name the task and select how often the task is to perform.

Step 4: Select the time and day you want the task to start.

Step 5: Review the summary of the options you have chosen for the Task. And click Finish.

Step 6: After the task is created you can right click the task and edit, delete, view properties, and execute task.

Create installer for clients

Step 1: Save

Install Deepfreeze on client

Step 1: save

Boot clients thawed and locked from Console

Step 1: Highlight the systems you need to boot thawed locked and right click.

Step 2: Click “Reboot Thawed Locked”. An hour glass will show next to the left of the system name to indicate the system is in progress. Once the our glass is gone the system will say thawed in the status column.

Uninstall Deepfreeze from client

Step 1: Save

Thaw and freeze client from the client key commands

Step 1: On a desktop system hold down CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + F6 then release it. Another window will open up where you can then enter the deep freeze password then select boot thawed, next click apply and reboot.

Step 2: For laptops it may be necessary to hold down FN + CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + F6 then release.

Note : Should this not work boot the system into Safe Mode, log in then hold down CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + F6 then release it. For laptops FN + CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + F6 then release.
