Prompt: Would you prefer spending a vacation somewhere in the wild or in a fancy hotel? What makes the difference?


Objectives of this lesson:

  1. Students will understand constituents of topic sentences.

  2. Students will be able to produce effective topic sentences to address a thesis statement of the given topic.


Directions for students:

STEP 1

Before submitting each of your topic sentence for review to receive the peer and the teacher feedback, check your topic sentence whether it contains a topic and a controlling idea that can well address your thesis statement.
