Indiana Standard: WH.5.3 Examine the key causes, events, and consequences of the French Revolution as well as the rise and fall of Napoleon.
Objective: Students will be able to explain the rise and fall of Napoleon in France. Student will also be able to formulate an argument using evidence from the sources if Napoleon was a “hero” or “villain”.
Procedure: Students will view a video lecture on the rise and fall of Napoleon. Students are encouraged to take notes on the main concepts and content in the video lecture.
Product or Assessment: Students will be engaging in a web-quest to learn more about Napoleon as a man, his military career, and his impact on France. Students will be answering questions as they explore the web-quest. Students will also be formulating an argument using evidence from the PowerPoint and web-quest if Napoleon was a “hero” or “villain”.
