RAFT Activity on Iraq and Iran

Indiana Standard: 7.1.13 Identify and explain the significance of historical events in the Middle East since the end of World War II.

Objective: Students will be able to identify and explain significant historical events in Iran and Iraq by creating an individual online RAFT activity.

Procedure: Students will be completing a RAFT activity as a culminating project for a unit on the Arabian Peninsula- specifically focusing on Iraq and Iran. Students will need to select a Role, and Audience, a Format, and a Topic to write about. Requirements for the RAFT include:
(1) At least one page (length with be adjusted if creating a pamphlet/ newspaper article), (2) the RAFT must be completed in an online format or in the appropriate format, and (3) students must include at least four accurate facts/evidence within your RAFT.

Product or Assessment: Students can chose to create a pamphlet, speech, blog,newspaper article, or personal letter.
