Cross Curricular Theatre and Graphic Arts T-shirt Design Contest
A colleague of mine, (Michael Weichmann) and myself developed a cross curricular project we used with my Theatre students and his Graphic Arts Students. We tasked our students with selecting a quote or image from Shakespeare, as well as using the school name and logo, they developed a t-shirt design. These student created t-shirts were then shared with all students in both classes and students were given the opportunity to vote on their favorite. There were then options presented for the students to print their t-shirts, if they chose.
This was a really fun way for students to get creative, and also demonstrate concept mastery with both literature and elements of design. This project could be used across any two subjects involving the study of William Shakespeare and the study of art or design.
