The role of juvenile probation is to reduce
recidivism; to maintain and return youth as law-abiding members of the
community. Probation officers are tasked with balancing responsibilities of
community safety; youth safety and rehabilitation and treatment. This is an
opportunity to gain an understanding of the role and responsibilities of
probation officers; the juvenile court process and services provided to youth.
