Grade 4: Language: Nouns and Elements of a Story

Subject: Language Arts

Class: Grade 4 Rm 10 (11a.m.-12 p.m)

Specific Objectives: Students should be able to:

·         Read a text aloud

·         Identify the elements of a story

·         Identify the nouns found in the story

Previous knowledge: Students should know elements of a story and nouns.

Teaching material: text, chalk

Procedure:

·         Word study: words that students may be unfamiliar with will be highlighted and examined.

·         Pupils will name the elements of a story.

·         Pupils will read the story silently, listen as it is read and will read it as a class.

·         Story parts will be discussed.

·         Pupils will reflect on nouns and will identify a few nouns orally.

·         Class work will be given.

Class Assignment:

(A) Find six common nouns in the story “Rushing River”

(B) Find four proper nouns in the story “Rushing River”
