Topic: Groups of Countries (Map Work)

Time: 2:20-3:00

Specific Objectives: Students should be able to:

·         identify different countries on a blank map of the Caribbean

·         locate Antigua and Barbuda on a blank map of the Caribbean

Previous knowledge: Students should be familiar with some of the islands of the Caribbean

Teaching materials: blank maps of the Caribbean, crayons, text

Procedure:

·         Pupils will quickly go over the map of the Caribbean in their text

·         Blank maps will be distributed and pupils will familiarize themselves with the map

·         Pupils will be guided in the map work.

Class work:

On the blank map of the Caribbean:

(i) Write where the Caribbean Sea and Atlantic Ocean are

(ii) Circle and name the islands in the Greater Antilles

(iii) Find and write names of Antigua and Barbuda

(iv) Write Bahamas where they are located

(v) Identify where the Leeward and Windward Islands are.
