Class profile Most of the students are beginner and elementary level students. They have

little contact with English outside school. They are between 15-17 years old. They didn’t have English in the curriculum the previous year. Most of them like English and are participative. They love games and competitions. Objectives: Listen for global gist and for practicing listening skills with sentences.

and solutions Pre-listening 2’ All class Teacher asks students

if they like to travel and if they think it is possible to travel around the world in 5 minutes.

If they are not able to understand and answer the question in English, mother tongue should be used.

While-listening 1 4’ Group work Each group gets an

image of an object mentioned in the audio. As soon as they hear the word they need to raise it above their head and make some noise.

If they can’t do it in the first time, the audio can be played multiple times.

While-listening 2 4’ Group work Students have to

reorganize slips of paper in the order they appear in the audio.

If they can’t do it in the first time, the audio can be played multiple times.

Post-listening 5’ Group work Slides will be shown

and the students have to complete the gaps with the images they have.

If computer does not work, sentences can be written on the board. If the students are not able to answer the questions, the audio is played one more time.
