About CSEC and Human Trafficking

CSEC involves the sexual exploitation of minors for economic profit. It includes “any sex act on account of which anything of value is given to or received by any person” (Clayton, Krugman, and Simon, 2013, as cited by CalSWEC, n.d.). This page aims to provide resources to help child welfare professionals assess for CSEC and to identify services to support the safety, stability and well-being of children who are victims of commercial sexual exploitation.
