Stellar Brightness Formative Assessment

The brightness of stars in the night sky varies.  One measure of the brightness of a star is apparent magnitude, which is the brightness of the star as seen from Earth.  The distance of stars from Earth also varies and is measured in light years.  Figure 1 shows the apparent magnitude of several stars.
