By looking at and together analysing three already published OER (all listed below), learners are taught what points to keep in mind as they are creating their own resources. The resource is available as a video and in transcript format with PowerPoint slides embedded.
This resource is a collaborative effort and was created for Geoscience Outreach students to practice considering the accessibility, inclusivity, and OER suitability of their created resources. These worksheets were developed by Bryanne McDonough (PhD Candidate, Boston University) for a 6 week summer AS101 course taught at Boston University using the Openstax Astronomy 2e textbook. Each lesson was two hours long, so modification may be necessary for using these worksheets in a shorter class format, although many are already split into two parts. I'm open to feedback and would love to hear if you decide to use this resource in anyway: please contact Bryanne McDonough (bnmcd@bu.edu).

Educators and students are excited and interested in learning about climate change, but many times we hear that they don’t know where to start. This series of videos was created by Dr. Kat Huybers, a glaciologist at the University of Washington. Dr. Huybers guides learners through four topics, including the following: It’s Warming, It’s Us, It’s Bad, and We Can Fix It. While watching these videos, the accompanying questions will guide learners in thinking critically about their relationship with climate change and also expose them to additional resources to deepen their understanding. These videos may work well as asynchronous foundational learning before a synchronous workshop.
