Overview: This assignment goes over 11 of the Consumer Protection Laws. There is a presentation with a project on it and a project page included. This lesson can be a stand alone lesson or be a second part to the Consumer Rights lesson also posted on the OER.
This document is a history of the challenges of starting an FTC Robotics Program as a class (as opposed to a club). The intended audience includes anyone who is thinking of starting an FTC Robotics program whether class or club. The reason “FTC” is specifically mentioned is that involvement with a major national program has many positive (and negative) aspects. The goal of this document is to provide the reader a compendium of all the problems (and posited solutions) we encountered.
Students will be able to identify methods used by predatory lenders for prevention, comprehend basic consumer rights, and demonstrate knowledge of filing complaints when these rights are violated. Additionally, students will understand tactics employed by predatory lenders and be equipped with the skills to avoid falling victim to them.
