    This resource was created by Jennifer Trenhaile, in collaboration with Dawn DeTurk, Hannah Blomstedt, and Julie Albrecht, as part of ESU2's Integrating the Arts project. This project is a four year initiative focused on integrating arts into the core curriculum through teacher education, practice, and coaching.

    Lesson Delivery
    Students will learn the importance of Ducks in the Native American Culture.  We will work on the pronunciations for the native american song that goes with the Duck Dance.  We will then watch a video on how to line up and move to the Duck Dance.  The dance will symbolize the ducks diving for food.  We will then work on moving to the song and dance to the duck song.


    Assessment and Reflection
    Content Assessment:Arts Assessment:For the most part they implemented the dance pretty well for Kindergarteners.
    Student Reflection:Teacher Reflection:It was a lot of work getting them all lined up and ready to do the dance.  They did pretty good once they got going but got confused again when we switched parts.
