    Overview

    When I think of school lunches I think about sandwiches, pizza, hot dogs, etc.  In this seminar you will be able to identify common lunch foods in Spanish. You will be able to use these words in school and in the outside world. So plan your next lunch date because you are going to be able to order off the menu in Spanish!

    Introductory warm-up activity.

      Menus are everywhere- in restaurants, cafes, fast food restaurants, and even at school! Menus tell us what food is available and what is going to be served.  Can you think of some foods associated with lunch time that would be on a menu?  Watch this commercial in Spanish and see if it helps you think of any.

      You are hosting a lunch party in Madrid. Review the Pizza Hut website in Spanish.  Read about the "pizzas populares."  Select one item of each of the categories that you think your group will like and share the Spanish description.

      • Lunch is a very important meal in Spanish-speaking countries.  In fact, it is the biggest meal of the day. Based on the vocabulary you learned in this seminar, provide four different food combinations you would serve at a Spanish-speaking restaurant.
