    Get ready to plan a trip to a Spanish-speaking country, but which one?  There are over twenty Spanish-speaking countries around the world. In this seminar you will learn about these countries and as you find out where they are geographically, consider what country would you want to visit and why.

    Introductory warm-up activity.

    Each country around the world has its own unique characteristics.  Some of these characteristics are based on where they are geographically located.  Do they border an ocean? Do they have a jungle or large lake? Are they located in the north or do they have cold winters?  Learn where some Spanish speaking countries are located and where you can find them. Check out these maps to familiarize yourself with spanish speaking countries.

    This is a task or project where you can show what you know.

    Access the maps of Spanish-speaking countries from the padlet here.  Pick two Spanish speaking countries and using the verb estar and location words, say where they are in a complete sentence in Spanish. Use the examples in the padlet.  Record yourself reading the two descriptions on where the countries are on the map. Upload the recording for a grade.


    Complete this wrap-up activity where you reflect on your learning.  

    1. Write a reflection essay answering the following questions:

    • What is one Spanish speaking country you would LOVE to visit tomorrow?  Why or why not? Imagine you make a new friend in this country, tell them where your own city/state/country is on a map in one sentence in Spanish. Is this a difficult task?  Why or why not?


    2. Post an Artifact.

    • Include an artifact(s) that contains specific experiences, readings, assignments, or discussions in this course that supports your point.

    • What did you learn by creating this artifact? Be specific.

    • How did this artifact and other course elements help you reach it? Be specific.
