Overview

To teach the child positive self-talk and the importance of having a growth mindset.

Intervention

1. Have a discussion with the child about the idea of a fixed mindset and a growth mindset. 

2. Practice this activity on a regular basis.

ACTIVITY NAME: Fixed vs Growth 

ACTIVITY OBJECTIVE: To teach the child positive self-talk and the importance of having a growth mindset.

ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION: Talk with the child about the importance of rephrasing what we tell ourselves after facing a challenge. Then show the child the below printables and ask them to stick the fixed mindset sentences under the fixed column, and to do the same with the growth column.
