Calculus Volume 2 Section 6.2 Question

I may be completely overthinking this, but in 6.2 Properties of Power Series, Example 6.9 says that g(x)=f'(x)

But wouldn't \(f'(x)=-1/(x-1)^2\)?

I'm really hitting a wall on this one.

I may not have the most up to date version, but in my edition it says \(f ( x ) = \frac 1 { 1 - x }\), not \(f ( x ) = \frac 1 { x - 1 }\)

You are exactly right!  I had copied it down wrong. I fully blame being on the recovering end of a stomach virus.  Thank you so much.
