Principles of Management Podcast
by Nicole Colter 3 years, 7 months agoHello Fellow Educators!
I started developing a Principles of Management podcast with my students to complement this OpenStax textbook. We will interview the authors of 4 of the chapters this semester and intend to complete the series in Fall 2021. I see podcast creation as a learning method, and podcast consumption as a learning medium.
Some chapter authors (11, 13, 14 & 15) have retired and so I am taking recommendations on who to approach for interviews in their place. Please let me know if you have any suggestions.
If you would be interested in receiving the first episodes to provide feedback, and/or just want to be kept up-to-date on this project, please respond here or email me at ncolter@trcc.commnet.edu.
If you are curious I explain more about this in this blog post - http://nicolecolter.com/creating-an-oer-podcast/. I've also started to compile resources for other educators who might want to consider podcasting - http://nicolecolter.com/podcasting/. I have more to add there but haven't gotten around to it yet. Let me know if you are really interested.
I'm also an advocate of Open Educational Practices (OEP) so I hope to continue to run my Principles of Management course where my students learn by creating OER content, I would love to hear what else would support your teaching of this course and/or what other materials you know peers want in order to consider a switch to this textbook.
If you are on Twitter, I would love to connect with you there as I'm considering ways to incorporate that as well by possibly creating a hashtag for each episode so that students across all institutions could discuss the content. My Twitter handle is @nicolecolter. Also trying to consider how to incorporate Linkedin as I recommend my students create Linkedin profiles. You can connect to me there at https://www.linkedin.com/in/nicolecolter/
Please let me know if there are any questions.
Regards, Nicole Colter
