Combining Chapters - best choices

Do you need all the content included in the book for your course? Could some of the chapters be dropped? This is a lot of material to try and cover it all in 12 weeks. One of my courses only needs the Microsoft Office content so I won't use the Google and Social Media content for that class. Another class is beginners so I probably won't use the advanced concepts. I haven't gotten into the entire course design but I don't expect to use all of the book for any of my classes. Good luck!
Hi Professor Hines,
Lindsay from OpenStax here! For a 12-week schedule, our content team recommends eliminating or condensing the advanced chapters, which include chapters 5, 7, 11, and 14. We recommend keeping chapter 10 in your course instruction.
If you'd like to send us your course syllabus, we can provide additional recommendations for combining/condensing/eliminating chapters for a 12-week course. Please send your syllabus to Anthony Palmiotto, our Director of Higher Education, via email: avp1@rice.edu.
Thank you for being a dedicated OpenStax user, and happy holidays!

Hi, Karen.
I am going to follow this discussion.
I am also developing a 12 week course in Moodle 4.* LMS.
P. S. I do like that you can customize the opwnstax textbooks to suit your course structure. I think I am going to give that feature a try, for this textbook.
