Key Objective(s):  Summarize the U.S. Constitution.  Identify key components of the document that are relevant to YOU.


Activities & Overview

1.  Utilize the PowerPoint (see attachment) to introduce the United States Constitution to the class.  Warm-Up/Bell Ringer ExercisePair & Share - With another student(s), list anything that you know or THINK you know about the U.S. Constitution.
2.  Teachers can personalize this in a wide variety of ways (i.e. lecture & discussion, note-taking, cloze worksheet, scaffolding, brainstorming, listing).
3.  Teacher and students can take turns reading content from the PowerPoint, emphasizing literacy promotion.
4.  This "introduction" can take more than one day. 
5.  Portions of this introduction could also be helpful in conducting a Constitution Day Lesson (every year on September 17th) - See attachments.
