Classroom space is designed and used creatively for multipurpose assignments and groupings

Teaching in a middle school with students that need to have movement, Damon has incorporated Yoga Balls for seating.

Last fall, I wrote two grants through Donors Choose for some flexible seating, aka yoga balls. I was tired of the traditional classroom setting and I wanted something different. Therefore, I received the grant funding and purchased 20 yoga balls for my classroom, changed my desks into pods, and changed the culture and climate of my classroom. I now have 16 yoga balls in my classroom, 4 standing desks, a counter lab space, and a window lookout seat. I provided all these different settings to provide alternative environments for students to learn.
