Child Labor Should Stop

Childhood (Expectations vs. Reality) by butchayPetchay

Childhood is the most innocent stage of humans life. A phase where child grows from simple pleasure. A developmental stage for children to play with friends and learn from school. This was the expectations about childhood but the reality is that many children was being deprived to enjoy there childhood instead at their early age they became part of labor force.

According to a recent founded study, Filipino children as young as 5yrs old are already engaged in child labor with the most glaring incidence of violation. As an example minors works in mining areas which is quite alarming because mining is already marked as one of the deadliest forms of employment because of occurrence of accidents. Other child laborers works in sugarcane plantations that are far from their hometown.

This is really true that the root of child labor is poverty and the lack of decent work for parents of the child workers. Parents deny their children the chance to attend school and learn the skills they need to become productive in the future. It seems that the best way to protect the children is to provide better livelihood opportunities to the parents so they will be able to provide for their families needs.
