Mark Twain or The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn

The following are project ideas for Huck Finn.  You will have to earn 100 points, but you may choose any combination of the following as long as the total equals 100 points.   

100 Point Projects

Create a three-five minute video over the life of Mark Twain using imovie, Wevideo, Kizoa, or some other video making program (must include a script)

Create a front page of a newspaper containing articles pertaining to scenes in the movie (look to a Clarinda Herald Journal and put in all the elements of a front page).  You must write the articles appearing in the paper.

Create a scrapbook for one of your characters; include poems, artwork, awards, newspaper articles, pictures, etc.  You should have an explanation for each item you choose. (12 page minimum). Scrapbooks can be crafty or the can be created using canva or other scrapbook making software


60 Point Projects

Read the poem, “The Negro Speaks of Rivers” by Langston Hughes (http://www.poets.org/poetsorg/poem/negro-speaks-rivers).  How does this poem “speak to” the novel?  Choose at least 4 other poems that relate to this movie, type them, and include a summary of the reason you chose these poems.

Write a magazine interview with a character from the movie or the author (2 pages)

Write a newspaper article over a major incident from the movie, following proper newspaper format (2 pages)

Write 2 poems about a character or situation from the works of Mark Twain we studied in class or from the Huck Finn movie (20 line minimum)


40 Point Projects

Create a five-frame cartoon strip that shows what happens in the scene that is most memorable to you

Create a timeline for the movie with at least 7 pictures that can be displayed

Create a crossword puzzle with at least 25 questions for reviewing the movie, must include the key

Make a movie poster for Huck Finn using the Smore website

20 Point Projects

Write a letter to a friend recommending or not recommending the Huck Finn movie

Create an original book cover, including a jacket synopsis and author biography

Write a magazine review of the movie

Write a letter to the author with proper format
