Assignments are organized under headings below related to two different courses that we offer at Clackamas Community College: (1) Introductory College Reading and Writing 1, (1) Introductory College Reading and Writing 2.
Introductory College Reading and Writing 1, WRD-090, provides a foundation for college-level reading and writing. Students develop vocabulary skills and apply reading strategies to fiction and non-fiction texts to gain information for various purposes. Writing processes are introduced and improved to create simple academic texts.
Introductory College Reading and Writing 2, WRD-098, builds on the basic reading and writing skills covered in WRD-090 and prepares students to be successful in college-transfer-level composition courses. Students read shorter college-level texts and create short essays responding to them. Topics include how to follow a writing process, perform basic research, work in a writing group, and reflect on one's own learning.
