Students will identify water sources in the school environment in order to understand the origins of our water and to gain perspective about the students' place in the water cycle. Students will learn about the water cycle using a variety of resources and discover connections between the water cycle and the water that they use every day.

The students will learn about the importance of responsibility, dependability, punctuality, honesty, and effort in the workplace through the reading of the book, "Mr. Griggs' Work." The students will have the opportunity to explore these character traits in their own work setting.

Using a drawing program (Kid Pix), students will integrate English Language Arts and Technology Skills as they work with Geometry skills.

In this lesson, students will analyze primary source documents. To enhance their understanding of the history of American slavery, students will analyze newspaper advertisements related to slavery from a North Carolina newspaper in 1837. Students will develop their own thoughtful analyses and express their ideas in writing; several writing assessment options are provided.

This lesson guides students to find answers in non-fiction texts about wolves by using of the KWHL graphic organizer and a reading strategy called RUNNERS. Students practice using these strategies while gathering information from different sources.
