This open textbook is designed in 12 chapters featuring a spectrum of current and relevant Canadian business communication topics. In chapters 2 to 12 of this open textbook you will be introduced to three business professionals in three different disciplines. Each of these professionals encounters communications successes and challenges in their everyday work, and their stories will be featured as reflection guidance through the textbook. In addition, each chapter will provide learning outcomes, a list of chapter topics (Chapter Preview), “Check your Knowledge” quizzes, a chapter glossary, and additional resources.
This 14-module open course was collaboratively designed and delivered on the Open University UK OpenLearn site in June 2018. The mini-MOOC (massive open online course) was designed to provide participants with an introductory-level tour of open educational practices (OEP) and open educational resources (OER) for use in their personal education context (whatever that looked like for them).
OER Passport is a professional development program that takes educators through the process of understanding, finding, developing and sharing Open Educational Resources.
This course trains teachers and students on OER use, reuse, licensing, creation, and sharing by completing the following tasks. The first three tasks lay a solid foundation and provide teachers with the tools to complete the last three tasks which focus on the use, reuse, production, and innovative teaching practices.
Participants can complete the tasks online. There are also files to print/create physical copies of OER Passports that can be used in an offline environment.
