    21st Century Skills for Teachers

    Teachers who are able to understand that we need to re-invent the wheel but bring innovative ideas and resources that make the best of the 'wheel' for the humanity are the ones who shall make us survive this century of Advancement!

    21st Century is an age in itself. It is re-defining our lives on all fronts. We are learning with unprecedented speed and resources are flooding at the speed of light. The primary skills of the century have been listed as:

    1. Communication
    2. Creativity
    3. Collaboration
    4. Critical Thinking

    We are doing an endeavour to re-visit this categorisation and expand its scope as well as its understanding. The second decade of the 21st century has given a new set of skills that every individual should possess and utilise to the best of his competence:

    • Emotional Intelligence

    • Creativity

    • Adaptability

    • Grit (Courage and Resolve)

    Importance of UpSkilling for Teachers

    Teachers can avoid the 21st Century Skills at their own cost and there shall be no scope of teaching for the past.

    We need to see that without coming ahead to prepare the generation in schools and universities for the Present, we can not deliver a sustainable and successful future.

     

    Emotional Intelligence: Understanding the Role and Developing a Way to Earn

    Being Emotional alone shall not help much, a teacher needs to be sensitive and sensible.

    Rationality and Self-control shall remain important and empathy plays an important role.

    Creativity remains a common Skills in the First and second decade skills. It is related to the recreations and the power of the mind.
