Professor Philippe Grandjean, scientist specialized in environmental medicine, highlights in this video the importance of sharing teaching materials worldwide.

He points out how exceptional good scientists and researchers are at discovering new problems, but how bad they are at handling the solutions to these problems. This might be a consequence of not sharing new discoveries with each other. 

Philippe Grandjean is Head of Research Unit, Environmental Medicine, University of Southern Denmark (SDU), as well as he is Adjunct Professor at Harvard School of Public Health, Department of Medical Health.

"The Nordic University Health Hub is a great resource for students as well as teachers to gain access to digital material on a range of global and public health topics. It is an easy way to identify high quality material aimed at university level courses and you do not have to consider problems of violating property rights. This is already taken care of. 

The universities in the Nordic area present different areas of expertise and through the Hub we can share video presentations, essay assignments, student datasets, quizzes and much more, developed by experts in the respective fields of research and education. The Hub present a way to reduce the cost of developing online material and is a way to facilitate increased collaboration between institutions.

  • If you have more than 5 resources to share:
    • We will help with uploading all resources at once, with a “bulk-upload”, please contact the project coordinator.

Want to upload content yourself?

You simply have to be a member of your university group on the hub. Choose your university under Partner universities and click ”Request to join group”. Note: Make sure to add keywords to your resources that will place the resource in the appropriate collections on the front page of the hub. Please use this list of keywords (page 2)

Here you can find guides on how to share, upload and create resources, how to search for resources and how to use the group-function on the platform.

Join an interest group!

If you are a teacher or an admin, and your university is already a member of the hub, we recommend that you join some interest groups. This will let you receive information when new resources are shared within your research area and you can join the discussion forums and upload educational resources to share it with your Nordic colleagues.

Simply choose an Interest Group, by clicking the round images on the front page of the site and then choose ”Request to join group”.

About the hub

With the dual goal of easing access to high quality Open Educational Resources (OER) for our instructors, and at the same time give the students the opportunity to learn from the most excellent researchers at our universities, a group of Nordic Universities have created this OER platform offering teaching materials within the health and medical sciences. 

Nordic University Health Hub is an open online library for sharing educational resources between Nordic universities, focusing on three main areas: Global Health, Public Health and Medical Sciences. Here you find more than 300 free educational resources from 12 Nordic universities.

As a student you are free to use all resources on the platform: videos, lectures, assignments, datasets, sound files and images - and you do not even need a login. You get direct access to learning resources and learn from the most excellent researchers across the Nordic universities!

As a teacher the platform offers you the opportunity to find, reuse and integrate educational resources into your own courses. We also invite you to share your resources on Nordic University Health Hub with your Nordic colleagues and students.

Is your university not a partner yet?

Please contact anne-marie@sund.ku.dk in order to start the dialogue and make your university a partner university. Becoming a partner university does not involve an economic fee, just a promise of contribution in terms of content and spreading the use of the platform.

Is your university already on board?

If you are a teacher or admin, this is how to become a member: Choose your university under Partner universities or choose an Interest Group, by clicking the round images on the front page of the site and then choose ”Request to join group”. We recommend that you join interest groups in order for you to be able to receive information when new resources are shared within your research area.
