About me

I am the Media Coordinator at Independence High School in Charlotte, NC. I have a Bachelor's Degree in Middle East Studies and Political Science from Fordham University, and a Master's Degree in Library and Information Science from the University of Pittsburgh. I am a member of the North Carolina School Library Media Association (NCSLMA) and the North Carolina Technology in Education Society (NCTIES). In 2013, I was named a NCSLMA Emerging Leader, and since 2014, I have been a coach and mentor with the North Carolina Digital Leaders Coaching Network (NCDLCN) at NC State's Friday Institute for Educational Innovation. I am the 2016 recipient of the Gertrude Coward Award for distinguished service and outstanding media center programming by Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools. I am a School Librarian Fellow and Project Lead for the North Carolina cohort with ISKME's School Librarians Advancing STEM Learning (SLASL) initiative.
