About me

Hi there. I’m a Ph.D. candidate in the Comparative Studies Program at Florida Atlantic University, under the direction of Dr. Taylor Hagood. Overtly interdisciplinary by training, my scholarly concentration focuses on the print culture of Southern literature during the late-capitalist period. My dissertation project, The Paratextual Conditions of Larry Brown’s Facing the Music,” explores how conspicuous paratextual southernness mediates consumption and reading practices around Larry Brown’s short story published in literary magazines, essay collections, and anthologies. My recent teaching includes undergraduate courses in my college’s Interdisciplinary Studies program, the Department of English and the Department of History. I also serve on several committees at Florida Atlantic University focusing on program development, conference organization, and advocating for improvements in graduate-student working conditions.
