About me
At my first university after graduate school, I discovered that my textbook publisher jacked up the price of an older edition - the one I assigned tot he students - because they had released a new edition. I was furious! I switched textbooks/publishers, but the fact that college textbook prices are outrageous is no secret.
Most of the content in the introductory American politics/government courses are identical. I was already modifying and adding to the textbook material in my classes, making the specific textbook I use less and less relevant. A customizable, content-rich OER text makes the most sense. It helps me play the slight role I can play in helping to reduce the cost of higher education for students.
