About me
I taught college political science & history around Philadelphia part & full-time for 10 yrs (Penn Ph.D.). For 20 years, I have run my own tutoring business, advantagelearningcenter.com. I've taught SAT Reading, Writing, & Math for my own students & as an SAT and SSAT coach (8 years) for the local branch of a national nonprofit that increases opportunities for students of color at elite public & private schools and colleges nationwide. In my own business, I tutored MS & HS History & Social Studies at all levels, In part due to the Covid lockdown, I've tutored AP Euro, APWorld, APUSH, as well as APGOV s well as Algebra 1, Geometry, & Alg. 2. I am fluent in Italian (Smith Junior & graduate years in Italy) and have tutored Italian, Spanish & French to Americans & taught English both here & abroad. I used Orton Gillingham training to help a number of upper elementary, MS & HS students improve their reading writing, vocabulary & spelling.
