About me

My name is Melody Williams. I am an Independent Educational Consultant currently working in Jamaica.

My last professional assignment (which ended in 2019) was with the USAID/Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) Reads Program (LRCP) where I served as the Communications Support Specialist, working with a team of educators to develop and disseminate early literacy resources and build capacity of stakeholders to sustain early literacy interventions in Jamaica.
I coordinated the review, editing and publishing of 11 books for children (4-8 years), written by Jamaican educators who were trained at LRCP’s Writers’ Workshops. One of these books is available in Braille.
I also worked with diverse organizations to execute the early literacy media campaign which targeted parents, who received tips on how they could support their children’s literacy development. The tips were shared with parents through posters, brochures, video and audio clips.
Here I am, two years later, seeking opportunities to work with a team of educators who are willing to create, adapt and share OERS that are aligned to the National Standards Curriculum and relevant to the Jamaican context.
