About me
Alan Pruitt is a Generative AI Strategist at The University of Arizona (Yuma Campus) and an Adjunct Professor of Exercise Science at Arizona Western College. A Marine Corps veteran and experienced educator, Alan advocates for a critical paradigm shift in higher education: moving from creating "problem solvers" to cultivating "problem framers."
He believes that as AI becomes adept at executing solutions, the essential human skill of the future is the ability to define challenges strategically. Alan recently published the Open Educational Resource (OER) "The Problem-Framer's Guide: Higher Education Assessment in the Age of AI" to help faculty navigate this shift. Whether teaching biomechanics or prompting strategies, Alan focuses on practical, field-tested methods to prepare students for an AI-enabled workforce.
