About me
Heidi Schuler-Jones worked with adult education in north Georgia for over 10 years. In 2010 in Georgia, she participated in the pilot program of the Adult Numeracy Initiative PD (ANI) and immediately found its techniques, methodologies, and research-based resources to be of tremendous value to her teaching and to the variety of students she saw daily. She has been a facilitator of the ANI training since 2012 when she became a LINCS national trainer for adult numeracy. She also works with LINCS to facilitate online PD offerings such as Open Educational Resources (OER), including STEM-focused resources, and Teaching Excellence in Adult Education (TEAL), particularly Effective Lesson Planning.
Though no longer in the classroom, Heidi remains connected to adult education on a regular basis. She serves as the Adult Numeracy Network (ANN) Secretary and is a COABE member. She currently works full time as an educational consultant and professional development specialist and in 2017 co-developed an accelerated math curriculum for Massachusetts in partnership with Donna Curry at the Adult Numeracy Center (ANC) at Technical Education Resource Center (TERC) in Cambridge, MA. She also works with TERC to facilitate the Adults Reaching Algebra Readiness [(AR)2] professional development, a follow-up training to the ANI.
