Say Goodbye to Waste

The slides linked below contain the information and notes necessary to conduct this lesson. This explains some of the information that is taught in the slides:

The second lesson is based around the idea of ‘Sustainability’. First, the term 'Sustainability' can be discussed with examples of sustainable products.

Next, the slides explain about some of the things that Scotland and organisations such as Edinburgh University are doing to be sustainable. Then the lesson then moves on to easy actions that the children could also do to be sustainable.

The children are then given the opportunity to culminate their thoughts and understanding from both lessons in an individual poster-making exercise where they had to include five main points on how to be sustainable. The aim of the exercise is to test how much the children have taken in from both lessons in a creative way. The format of the exercise, a poster presentation means that the children could present their creation to their family with the hope of spreading the importance of being more sustainable and to reduce waste back at home.
