Concepts of Biology by Rice University Textbook Resources for Biology II

This resource contains materials for chapters 11-15 and 19-21 from the Concepts of Biology OpenStax OER book by Rice University.  

The syllabus unit contains information about the course description, instructions for accessing the textbook, a suggested course schedule.  All of this information can be copied/pasted and modified to fit any syllabus.  The materials can be used for a face-to-face, online or hybrid course format.  

The PowerPoint units have two different sets of lecture PowerPoints for instructors to choose from:

• Textbook PowerPoints - This unit contains PowerPoint slides that are in .pptx format for edition and use in face-to-face courses.  They closely match the format of the textbook.  Instructors can download these files and modify to fit their needs. 
• PDF version of PowerPoints - This unit contains the sane PowerPoint slides as the .pptx files but are saved in .pdf format.  These will be more suitable for use in online or hybrid courses because they contain modifications for screen readers.  These files can not be modified, but if modifications are desired, instructors can download the .pptx files, modify them and then re-save in .pdf format.  

The Study Guide unit contains study guides for chapters 11-15 and 19-21 as well as a study guide made for a comprehensive final exam.  These study guides are a series of questions are in Microsoft Word format, so they can be modified if needed.  They are suitable for distribution to students as a study guide for tests.  They could also be used as homework assignments or in-class worksheets.
