In a 21st century globally-competitive society, agriculture is rapidly progressing and incorporating more innovative STEM practices (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics). A number of agriculture advances incorporate genetics, which is an important unit in seventh-grade science. The lesson exposes students to a real-life application of genetics and technology to improve agriculture production and profit.
