 This resource will provide college students with the skills necessary to find academic articles in support of a research writing assignment.This resource is written for a college level reader. The exercises are intended to be accomplished by using your college or university library website and the research resources on it.  While this resource can be accomplished independently, it has been written to serve as instruction within a research methods course and assumes that students have an actual research project to which they can apply these strategies.

This assignment was developed for students in NSF 100 Natural Sciences who attend a 1-hour library session. This session is aligned with the Inquiry and Problem Solving and Integrative core competencies in terms of exposing students to "Searching as Strategic Exploration."Strategy and exploration are the keys to effective research. The first the students has to complete the life cycle by dragging the correct picture to the accurate place. The second slide the student then has to type a paragraph explain the life cycle of a butterfly, using vocabulary words like egg, larva, chrysalis, and metamorphosis.

This lesson provides an outline for teaching young learners all about the lifce cycle of a butterfly!

This is a lesson plan designed for the grade 3 level, exploring life cycles of animals. This lesson plan itself is focusing on the life cycle of a butterfly. I've included 2 lesson plans that would be used a few weeks apart, the first one is an introduction into the lifecycle of a butterfly with a scavanger hunt activity. Lesson plan 2 focuses on the students and seeing the growth of butterflies brought into the class while working together with an older grade to show their understanding of the life cycle of a butterfly.

Structure, Function, and Information Processing - 1st Grade
1-LS1-1. Use materials to design a solution to a human problem by mimicking how plants and/or animals use their external parts to help them survive , grow, and meet their needs.

Objective: Student will match each object with its animal counterpart. What animal does each object resemble?

This is the third lesson in the science unit Plant and Animal Structure and Survival. The students made a comparison book and will be used as a resource. This book was made to compare how animal parts look to human parts and their functions. Using their science journal, students will review the labeling of animal parts and plant parts. Now using that prior knowledge, students will match pictures of objects with animals.

This assignment gives students the opportunity to think about the Big Picture of the lifespan. They listen to a podcast and then reflect on how the information is relevant to their life currently, discuss some positives and some challenges to work on, and talk about a stressor and how to overcome it.
