This Module provides an overview of accommodations for students with disabilities (est. completion time: 1 hour).
The resources in this Module offer helpful tips on setting up the physical aspects of your classroom and will introduce types of equipment used by students with visual disabilities (est. completion time: 1 hour).
This Module presents information on legal requirements and accommodations for testing students with disabilities, in addition to highlighting considerations for interpreting performance data for this population (est. completion time: 2 hours).
A wiki textbook collaboratively authored in two main sections: financial accounting and managerial accounting.
Financial accounting theory as applied to corporate form of business involving service and merchandising activities will be examined. The course includes analysis and recording of business transactions and preparation of financial statements.
Uses annual reports of real companies to illustrate many of the accounting concepts in use in business today. Gaining an understanding of accounting terminology and concepts, however, is not enough to ensure your success. You also need to be able to find information on the Internet, analyze various business situations, work effectively as a member of a team, and communicate your ideas clearly. This text was developed to help you develop these skills.
This guide compiles starting points for OER and freely available resources for Accounting courses and topics. This OER subject guide was created for TCC faculty and staff and reflects TCC credit, continuing education, and corrections course offerings. The purpose of this guide is to help faculty and staff more easily find and review OER in their areas so that they can make decisions about quality, accuracy, relevancy, and potential use.
Students learn the basic accounting principles needed to effectively make business decisions as a manager. The course begins with a review of basic math and accounting principles, ensuring students are prepared for the material that follows. Students will learn how to make financial decisions, including decisions around budgeting, financial statements, and cost and profit analysis.
Materials that make it easy for instructors to integrate data analytics into introductory accounting classes, including cases that are suitable for introductory accounting classes.
This module examines the nature and variability of subduction margins through examination of data sets that document subduction zone inputs, deformation, and resulting morphology in different settings.
Simple example of accrual accounting. Created by Sal Khan.
Learn how to research companies, industries and other critical business information to give you an edge in the job search process with this interactive tutorial.
Get ready to be inspired by the groundbreaking presentation titled "Achieving M.O.D.E.L.S. of Excellence"! This masterpiece is the result of my thesis project, which earned me an honorary doctorate in education from the prestigious T.O.C.A. Consortium of Global BPOs in EdTech.
After devoting 35 years to the field of education and working across the globe, I am beyond grateful to share this framework with fellow educators and learners. This presentation is not just a culmination of my life's work, but a revolutionary guide to help you achieve excellence in every aspect of your academic and professional journey.
To be recognized with an honorary doctorate is truly an honor that humbles me to the core. Join me in celebrating this achievement and let's strive for excellence together!
This resource is a video abstract of a research paper created by Research Square on behalf of its authors. It provides a synopsis that's easy to understand, and can be used to introduce the topics it covers to students, researchers, and the general public. The video's transcript is also provided in full, with a portion provided below for preview:
"The Isthmus of Tehuantepec in Mexico is one of the windiest places on earth making it a hotspot for investment in wind energy. But that’s proving problematic. Because although wind-energy investments appear to be paving the way toward a sustainable future a new study reports that a lack of good governance is proving unsustainable for the large indigenous population that calls the Isthmus home. Mexico is among the many nations that have implemented policies supporting the Sustainable Development Goals established by the United Nations. a blueprint for achieving a sustainable future for our planet. But in the Isthmus of Tehuantepec, these efforts do not adequately include local indigenous communities. It’s a problem caused by a combination of corruption, poor accountability, and limited access to information about energy and the environment. Fortunately, paths for reversing these poor governance patterns do appear to exist..."

In this field-based exercise, students were given a tour of an abandoned mine site and asked to utilize a set of field measurements to describe the spatial details of metal transport. This drew on previous experience with field measurements and prompted them to work together to solve an observed chemical evolution of a contaminated brook. The exercise is an excellent example for students to bring together acid-base chemistry, redox chemistry, and thermodynamic concepts together to describe a reasonably complex system. The field component was completed in a full day, but we will be expanding this next fall for a 2 day exercise (weekend). The exercise was coupled with subsequent labs to complete analysis of the water samples and accomplish speciation calculations using PHREEQCI.

Intended Audience: This activity was used for an introductory Geochemistry class, which contained students from sophomore level to master's students. We took the trip in mid-October, about as late as possible in Vermont, after they had gained some previous field experience and lab work in addition to an in introduction to these principles in class.

It's no secret that greenhouse gases warm the planet and that this has dire consequences for the environment whole islands swallowed up by rising seas, animal and plant species stressed by higher temperatures, and upsets in ecological interactions as populations move to cooler areas. However, carbon dioxide has another, less familiar environmental repercussion: making the Earth's oceans more acidic. Higher levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere mean that more carbon dioxide dissolves in the ocean. This dissolved carbon dioxide forms carbonic acid the same substance that helps give carbonated beverages their acidic kick. While this process isn't going to make the ocean fizzy anytime soon, it is introducing its own set of challenges for marine organisms like plankton and coral.
