Students will participate in a discussion about immigration to the United States. After agreeing to be respectful regarding discussion and the conversation on immigration, students will take a Kahoot Immigration Myth quiz about misconceptions they might have about immigration to the United States. This study abroad guide is designed to help students prepare for their study abroad experience in Tokyo, Japan. This interactive journal contains a list of important information alongside photos and authentic materials such as train tickets, traffic signs, menus, and bank ATMs. It also provides cultural tidbits and personal experiences that are intended to assist students in adjusting to Japanese culture and society during their study abroad.
This lesson was designed to improve student's intercultural competency. From this, the students will learn about cultural differences that could influence how people interact in a health care setting. After identifying the differences, students will practice using medical terms and phrases in their target language.
Students will practice discussing their preferences, how to defend and support their ideas. Students learn topics through a game of bingo and express how relevant certain ideas are over others.
In this activity students will get to know their fellow students through simple introduction conversation. Using the bingo cards they will ask people open ended questions related to each image and fill out their chart with signatures.
