Students will determine a rule for classifying outdoor objects based on physicalproperties of matter.
This lesson includes various activities using the hula hoop.
These presentations are part of a larger body of resources from educators in Mount Vernon School District in Washington state that explore the intersection of social emotional learning and physical education learning standards.
This is part of a series of six documents from Mount Vernon School District educators that provide lessons that integrate Washington's Social Emotional Learning and Physical Education learning standards along with educator guidance and strategies.
Lesson is utilized for “@ home” learning during the fitness testing portion of the school year. Students are provided with the variables/setup of each test to be performed at home during remote learning period. We do 7 different fitness tests ... PACER, SitnReach, Agility/Shuttle Run, Flexed Arm Hang, Standing Long Jump, 60 sec situp, and 60 sec pushup.
This fistball unit is for grades 3-5 and meets a variety of grade specific outcomes in standards 1, 2, 4, and 5.
Geology can roughly be divided into physical geology, which studies the materials of the Earth and the processes operating in it, and historical geology, which aims at a reconstruction of the history of the Earth. Historical geology requires some knowledge of physical geology for its elucidation. (Imagine, by way of analogy, forensic scientists diagnosing cause of death as a gunshot wound, which is a historical question. It would obviously be necessary for them to know something about the behavior of guns, which would be a physical question.) However, the aim of historical geology is to understand the past, and knowledge of physical geology is merely an adjunct to this aim.
Students will create mixtures using objects they find in the garden. Also, they need to be able to write a conclusion based on observations.
STUDENT ACTIVITY - 4th - NCThis is a distance-learning lesson students can complete at home. The student will observe, compare different objects, and be able to identify the properties of specific materials. This activity was created by Out Teach (out-teach.org), a nonprofit providing outdoor experiential learning to transform Science education for students in under-served communities.
Tribal nations and Indigenous communities throughout North America have always enjoyed games and athletic activities that provide entertainment, teach skills of physical and mental endurance, promote tribal values such as teamwork and fairness, and allow individuals and teams to challenge themselves in competition. These games and activities range from the simple hand (or“stick”) game that dates back thousands of years to the modern-day Indian Relay Races that oftendraw large crowds. Even in the pre-contact era there were some similarities in the games playedby tribes in a given region or even in completely different parts of the country, but there were also many variations in the rules, materials, and methods of play. In this lesson, students will learn how to play one version of the hand game and will hear about some of the variations in the playing materials and rules used by different tribes in Oregon. Students will learn to take cues from opponents to identify the hand that holds the chosen item.
Explore an active area of research in optical physics: producing designer pulse shapes to achieve specific purposes, such as breaking apart a molecule. Carefully create the perfect shaped pulse to break apart a molecule by individually manipulating the colors of light that make up a pulse.
Exercises/Workouts to do from home.

The teacher demonstrates how to move and be like that animal using various exercises and students follow along. Students are able to showcase their psychomotor skills in this lesson.
This task is an example of applying geometric methods to solve design problems and satisfy physical constraints. This task models a satellite orbiting the earth in communication with two control stations located miles apart on earthsŐ surface.
Fun Fitness Activity to introduce 4 ways to build a healthy body and healthy brain:

Principles of Chemistry is a study of fundamental chemical concepts: scientific measurements, matter and energy, stoichiometry, atomic structure, the periodic table, chemical bonding, gases and liquids. The course is designed primarily for students with a concentration in biological or physical sciences and for students interested in transfer to a four-year program in engineering. A three-hour lab session is required each week. All course content created by Kimberly Stieglitz. Content added to OER Commons by Julia Greider.
