This is a popular website/resource that describes itself as "fair use". It has many lists and categories of art and artists with some biographical material and images. It is useful for looking up basic information on a wide variety of artists and subjects. It is not suitable for an entire course.

Abstract
The goal of the club is for students to explore different areas in the visual arts–including drawing, painting, printmaking, and pottery– and gain knowledge about a variety of materials and skills. By the end of club, students will have expanded their knowledge in art history and have learned about the components, elements, and principles of art. At the same time, the projects planned will allow students to apply what they learn to their own creativity and ideas.

This activity is from Teatro Milagro's 2016 tour of a bilingual play about the young Frida Kahlo.

Obelisk (formerly Trivium) Art History is a free, online art history textbook designed for discovery. Meet history's greatest artists, browse artwork, and explore the timeline of human creativity. Trivium offers short, conversational essays and artist biographies and encourages exploration by artistic movements, mediums and themes.

This resource was created by Heidi Meyers, in collaboration with Dawn DeTurk, Hannah Blomstedt, and Julie Albrecht, as part of ESU2's Integrating the Arts project. This project is a four year initiative focused on integrating arts into the core curriculum through teacher education, practice, and coaching.

Students will study the work of the author Todd Parr. Working in pairs, students will create their own poster in the style of Parr that conveys a positive message. Finished posters can be displayed around your school for other students and teachers to view.
