Football Follies - Congruent Triangles

Part A- Choosing the Best Solution

After brainstorming with your team, use this Decision-Making Matrix [2]to compare your ideas and help choose your team's BEST solution to this problem.

Part B- Sketch Your Team's Design

After your team decides on the best design, your team's next step is to make detailed sketches of your bench.

 Sketch Design Options:

1. create detailed sketches using graph paper

2. Use a 3D modeling software such as Geogebra, SketchUp, or AutoDraw

Be sure to include:

  • Dimensions for the real-life bench as well as the dimensions of the prototype.  Double-check that the measurements for the actual bench and prototype are proportional.  These sketches and measurements need to be neat and accurate.
  • Which Geometry Theorems, Postulates or Definitions support your teams' idea that the bench will now be a stable seating area and consider comparing your design to.
  • The exact itemized list of all of the materials your team will purchase and a grand total of the cost of building the new bench for the team.
